Enrollment Requirements for Disbursement of Financial Aid

  • Financial Aid funds will be prorated for less than full time enrollment. This includes all federal and state grants and federal loans.  The only aid not prorated will be Parent PLUS loans.  
  • Students enrolled through Open University are not eligible to receive federal or state aid; however, you may qualify for private or alternative loans.
  • Courses taken in an “Audit” status are not eligible for federal or state aid (including loans) and do not count within total units enrolled for receipt of financial aid.

Full-Time Enrollment

  • 12 units and above for an Undergraduate, Post-Baccalaureate or Credential program
  • 8 units and above for a Graduate or Doctoral degree - 200 level or department approved coursework 

Three Quarter-Time Enrollment

  • 9 - 11 units for an Undergraduate, Post-Baccalaureate or Credential program
  • 7 units for a Graduate or Doctoral degree - 200 level or department approved coursework

Half-Time Enrollment

  • 6 - 8 units for an Undergraduate, Post-Baccalaureate or Credential program
  • 4 - 6 units for a Graduate or Doctoral degree - 200 level or department approved coursework
